The Alabama Takedown Academy is dedicated to fostering a vibrant wrestling community by providing exceptional training opportunities. Our mission is to empower wrestlers of all ages, backgrounds, and walks of life. We believe that every aspiring wrestler deserves access to high-quality coaching, regardless of their age, race, gender, or socio-economic status. Through our commitment to inclusivity and excellence, we aim to develop not only skilled athletes but also resilient individuals who embody the spirit of sportsmanship and discipline.

• Post season Folkstyle (Virginia Beach Prep - End of high school season up to when we leave for Va Beach)
• Freestyle/Greco Training (roughly Early April - Mid July)
  • Travel costs to US Marine Corps/USAW Junior & 16U National Championships will be set by Team Alabama
  • Registration will be done through Team Alabama
• Pre-Season workouts (August - October)

Tournament participation is encouraged, but not required. Wrestlers may train during these training periods without obligation to compete.

We may not attend all events on this schedule. Events are presented for informational purposes. We will inform the membership which events we will attend. If you have difficulty registering for an event, call Brian at anytime: 256-585-8496.

All National Duals events will be attended by All-Star teams from across the state. If you desire for your wrestler to be considered for one of these teams, please see the coaches.

Wrestlers must purchase a USA Wrestling Membership Card at USA Wrestling before joining club practices.

The 2024 ATA Registration form is online. Please fill it out prior to coming to practice the first time. It can be found at this 2024-25 Individual Registration Form

• Single Sessions
• No Charge Out of town visitors or first time locals (must have valid USA card)
• 6^th Grade and below
• $20/month One practice per week (Thursdays) Must have valid USA wrestling card.
• 7^th Grade and above
• ATA Membership - $75/month – 4 days a week most weeks (Sun, Mon, Tues, Thurs) Must have a valid USA wrestling card.
• 2024 ATA Team Membership - $400/month for up to 10 wrestlers, +$40/month/wrestler for each wrestler over 10. Team memberships require all attending wrestlers to have valid USA wrestling cards.

Fees can be paid by cash, check, or VENMO (this is our prefered way to be paid. Please include your wrestler's name in the comment.)
